Alade Aminu Wiki – Alade Aminu Bio
Alade Aminu is a Nigerian-American basketball pro player who most recently played for the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) team Gigantes de Carolina. He played for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in college before playing professionally in France, Turkey, Italy, Israel, and Lebanon.
Abdul Wahab “Alade” Aminu is his actual name. He is an excellent basketball player. Aminu signed with the French side Élan Chalon for the 2010-11 season on July 9, 2010. Aminu scored a career-high 27 points, shooting 13-of-14 from the floor, and grabbed six rebounds in an 85-107 defeat against ASVEL Basket on May 21, 2011. Aminu and Chalon won the French Cup in 2011.

Family and Early Life
Aminu’s father is Nigerian Yoruba, while his mother is an African American from New York City. He was born in Atlanta and raised in the adjacent town of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Al-Farouq, his brother, is an NBA professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic.
Aminu went to Stone Mountain’s Stephenson High School. He was a member of the Georgia Institute of Technology Yellow Jackets.
Aminu started 24 games as a freshman at Georgia Tech, averaging 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 48.9% from the field.
Aminu’s involvement expanded somewhat in his sophomore year, when he appeared in 18 games, averaging 5.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 58.3% from the field (his best shooting percentage throughout his collegiate career).
He averaged 11.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals a game as a senior while shooting 52.2% from the field.
Career
Aminu joined the Washington Wizards for the 2009 NBA Summer League after going undrafted in the 2009 NBA draft. The Fort Wayne Mad Ants picked Aminu with the 10th overall choice in the 2009 NBA D-League on November 5, 2009. However, the Erie Bay Hawks later acquired him in a trade. Aminu participated in the 2010 D-League All-Star Game on February 13, 2010.
Aminu signed a one-year contract with Enel Brindisi on September 23, 2013. On the other hand, Aminu severed ties with Brindisi on December 30, 2013. Aminu returned to Turkey for a second spell on January 6, 2014, joining Banvit for the remainder of the season. Aminu assisted Banvit in reaching the 2014 Turkish League Semifinals, where Galatasaray defeated them.
Aminu joined TED Ankara for the 2014-15 season on August 15, 2014. Aminu scored a season-high 26 points without missing a single shot (12-of-12 from the field) in an 85-97 loss against Eskişehir on February 28, 2015.
Aminu joined the Lebanese club Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut on August 8, 2016. During the 2016-17 season, he averaged 15 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 37 games. Per game, he averages 1.3 thefts and 1.1 blocks. Aminu and Al Riyadi won the Lebanese League Championship in 2017.

Aminu returned to France for a second spell on July 28, 2017, signing a one-year contract with Nanterre 92. Nanterre advanced to the 2018 FIBA Champions League Round of 16, where they were eliminated.
On September 10, 2019, he joined the PLK’s Polski Cukier Toru.
Aminu signed a contract with Atléticos de San Germán of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional on May 27, 2021. He was, however, freed on May 1, 2022. He joined Gigantes de Carolina the next day.

Alade is a senior member of Nigeria’s national basketball squad. He competed in the Summer Olympics in both 2012 and 2016.
Aminu helped the Nigerian team win the 2015 AfroBasket, collecting a gold medal in the process.
