Athenna Crosby, a model and entertainment writer, revealed herself as the woman who took Perry to the Hotel Bel-Air on Friday, his last public appearance.
Matthew Perry’s lunch date has come forward to say that the “Friends” actor was in excellent spirits just 24 hours before his alleged drowning.
“I am so upset by his passing but felt that it was in bad taste to talk of it openly as the spotlight wasn’t due on me but instead on him as well as his accomplishments he was an incredibly private person and I usually honored that in our friendship,” Crosby said in a story on her Instagram account on Wednesday.

“But we were friends, and I was among the last to speak with him and see him before he died,” she continued.

Matthew Perry’s Death
Perry, 54, was declared dead after being discovered unconscious in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, home on October 28, 2023. According to the LAPD Captain Scot Williams, “foul play is not suspected at this time, but the cause of death may not be known for some time.” The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reported the cause of death as “deferred” the next day, stating that “additional investigative steps” were required.
Cast members of Perry’s Friends released a statement together on October 30.

The Venezuelan national admitted to TMZ that the lunch meeting was not romantic and that they had first connected a few months prior through a common acquaintance.

Initial tests reveal that Perry’s purported drowning was not caused by a meth or fentanyl overdose, according to sources on Wednesday.

Perry struggled with alcohol and drug addiction all of his life. When his book “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir” was published on November 1, 2022, he claimed to have been clean for eighteen months.
