Laquai Dash was fatally shot in the neck and murdered in a targeted killing on a Bronx street Thursday, according to officials and police sources.
The youngster was fighting with a group of children when gunshots erupted at 4:15 p.m. on Cauldwell Avenue and East 158 Street in Melrose, between the Grove Hill Playground and P.S. 157, according to the NYPD and sources.
The man, who police sources identified as a targeted target with past offenses, was brought to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln and declared dead, according to authorities.
The incident occurred in the 40th Precinct, triggering a rapid reaction from authorities after many 911 calls. No arrests have been recorded, and the inquiry is still underway.
